Mum’s dream of death

A MOTHER dreamt that her missing son was calling for her and floating on a river’s surface. Sadly, it turned out to be true. His body was later found, Harian Metro reported.

Norma Bakar was sleeping on the bank of Sungai Merbok in Sungai Petani, where her 19-year-old son Amirul Asraf Ayob had gone missing on Tuesday, when she had the dream, around 4.30am Thursday.

She told her eldest son Amirul Aswan, 21, about her dream and that his brother was dead.

She also told him where to look for the body along the river, which was not far from where she was sleeping.

True enough, Amirul Asraf’s body was found floating on its side, not far from where he had jumped into the river to escape a bee attack two days earlier.

“When I found him, he was on his side, just as my mother had said,” said Amirul Aswan.

He added that there was a large beehive on a tree near where the body was found.

In Tuesday’s incident, Amirul Asraf, his uncle Zakaria Ismail @ Awang, 60, and a friend, Azmi Ahmad, 55, had jumped into the river after being attacked by bees.

Zakaria and Azmi were rescued by fishermen who saw the incident, but Amirul Asraf went missing.
